Bursa Yenişehir Airport, which is 50 kilometers from the city center, was firstly opened as a military airport in Yunuseli neighborhood and then, the airport served for cargo planes. The airport has been opened to civil air traffic in 2001.

At the airport, it is possible to fly to Ankara as well as you can reach other cities of Turkey through Ankara. International flights are also arranged at the airport to get to Dusseldorf (Germany), Kuwait and Nicosia (Cyprus).
