About Adareil

Malut, which is in the Upper Nile State of South Sudan, is located on the northeast corner of the country. Fishing is one of the most important livelihoods of the city's people. Sorghum and corn are the main agricultural products.

On the banks of the Nile, Malut is found on a wide plain between savanna pastures and acacia trees, and often faces drought problems. The city is under the influence of steppe climate. Especially between April and October the temperature is approaching 40 degrees Celsius. The temperature is not dropping much throughout the year. Rainfall is very rare.

Although the Nile River is the most important transportation route of Malut, another important transportation point of the city is Adareil Airport.

Since water resources are not adequately protected and cleanliness is not under control, epidemics can be seen from time to time in the city. During the visits of strangers in the city, it is recommended that they only drink bottled water and wash vegetables and fruits with plenty of drinking water. Even if there is a hospital in the city, it is not very well equipped and can only deal with basic health problems.

It is not possible to say Malut, a small and poor settlement in a country that has had many wars in the history, is a tourist spot. Things that can be done in the city do not go beyond being a part of the daily life of local people. Taking a walk or picnic along the banks of the Nile River is among the rare activities that can color your time while in the city.
