Gainesville, located in the state of Florida in the United States, is commonly referred to as the G-Ville among the people.
Transportation within the city is mostly provided by buses, but bicycles are also widely used as means of transportation and there are bicycle routes among almost the entire city. The city also has an airport with regular flights to Charlotte, Atlanta and Miami.
Gainesville is under the influence of humid subtropical climate. Temperature fluctuations are higher in Gainesville compared to the general Florida climate. In winter the temperature drops to an average of 6 to 10 degrees Celsius and sometimes frosts can be observed.
